At a glance

Well first and foremost - Welcome! I'm Kathleen - I love dogs, traveling, ideation sessions, and low fidelity prototyping.

I've come into the UX world by way of accessible healthcare, starting my career on the product integration team at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. I had the privilege to work across many projects in the organization and came to notice a common thread of product failure due to lack of user research. That inspired my next career step to go to graduate school to study the human-centered-design process.

I attended the University of Washington from 2019- June 2021 to study in the Human Centered Design & Engineering master's program. I had a blast learning from professors, course content and my peers. I learned a vast array of research methods, HCI theories, artifact building, persona building, qual & quant methods, and much more in the end-to-end design process!

During this time in graduate school, I started a product management internship at a fintech startup that turned into my current full time gig. There, I learned the ins-and-outs of building software products for high-profile clients with tight timelines and no time for user-research (instead using SME's as proxy-users).

I'd be happy to tell you more and hear about your product challenges in the UX space, please contact me at the email above.
